Friday 12th August - commute
It was a lot cooler on the way to work this morning with an overcast sky, but it cleared by 10 am and was hot and sunny for the rest of the day.
Later in the afternoon there was a slight breeze from the east and it brought in a sea haar or fog.
I didn't mind. I was tired and I just took it easy and enjoyed the cycle home with a couple of short detours for variety.
When I stopped at this log a common buzzard flew up from the edge of the woods. It kept calling and there was a response from further into the trees. There's probably a nest close by. There's a common assumption that buzzards live on carrion, but worms and grubs make up a lot of their diet. Food will be tight with it being so dry, so the rain forecast for next week will be welcome.
Commuting total - 762.8 miles.
